Carolyn Hiatt Kirkman

A Celebration of her life will be on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Sedgefield Mausoleum at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery, 6000 West Gate City Blvd., Greensboro, NC 27407.

Born in Guilford County on November 22, 1928 to the late James Reuben Hiatt and Elma Anthony Hiatt, Carolyn was of the Christian faith. Carolyn was employed by WFMY-TV in the Promotion Department from 1963 until 1973. She then went to work for Jordan Wright Nichols Caffrey & Hill, which later changed to Nichols Carrey Hill Evans & Murrelle. She later worked and retired from Walton McNairy of McNairy Clifford and Clendenin for many years. She was a loving and devoted wife, sister, aunt and friend who was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her. Carolyn was blessed by her family and friends, who brought her much joy, love, laughter and support over the years. She was grateful to her wonderful caregivers, Chris Huneycutt and Shelia Baker, her doctors and the staff at Adams Farm Nursing and Rehabilitation. Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Kirkman.

Carolyn had several siblings, Ruby Hulin, Ruth Totten, Bud Hiatt, Mary Ellen Hiatt, Catherine Grayson and Elma “Tommie” Edwards. She is survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and other extended family and friends.
