Carolyn Carolyn Clute

Virginia Carolyn Gibson Clute, 73 of Kernersville, NC passed away peacefully on October 24, 2017. She was a loving mother, step mother and grandmother to all of her family. Her family remembers her as a strong and independent woman with a very kind and generous heart and she will be dearly missed.

Carolyn was the youngest of ten children and was preceded in death by her mother, Josephine Moore Jones and her father William Robert Jones and seven of her brothers and sisters, Harry Columbus Jones, Luther Thomas Jones, Elizabeth Frances Jones Brown, Wiley Herbert Jones, Lorene Ellen Jones Hopper, Dorothy Marie Jones Wyrick, William Elmer Jones. She is survived by her sister Thelma Jean Jones Dameron and her husband Bueal Aaron Dameron and her brother Nathan Lewis Jones and his wife Evon.

Carolyn was a nurturing and caring mother to two sons, Craig Clay Gibson and the late Christopher Mark Gibson. She was a proud grandmother of Tyler Preston Gibson and Camryn Brooke Gibson, children of Craig and Terry Gibson, and Taylor Morgan Gibson, daughter of the late Mark Gibson and his wife Rhonda.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her first husband Conrad Clay Gibson. She was also preceded in death by her second husband Truman Chase Clute. Carolyn is remembered as a loving step mother to Truman’s three son’s Truman Jr., Glenn and David Clute. She leaves behind her longtime companion Glyde Shaver.

Carolyn has always enjoyed Butterflies and all of their beauty, so it was only fitting that she was surrounded by the theme of Butterflies on her last day. The family was comforted with the thoughts of the transition of the Butterfly through its many stages of life just as Carolyn was transitioning to make her way home to be with her Father.

The graveside service will be held Saturday October 28, 2017 at 11:00 am at Lakeview Memorial Park. The family will be receiving visitors Friday October 27, 2017 from 5-7pm at Hanes Lineberry North Elm Chapel, 515 North Elm Street.
