It's been a year since our son Brian passed away. The year was very sad and lonely without him in the family. We know that we will see him some day in heaven.We were blessed to have him show his love for his employees at Verizon and others he came in contact in his life time.I want to thank all our friends and family for prayers and encouragement thru this past year.He is missed by alote and never forgotten. I was very saddened to hear about Brian. I worked with Brian at Alltel. He was good manager and an all around good person. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

We love Brian and the family so very much. His love for his Lord and the children in our church showed so bright during his time as Awana Commander. He loved dressing up and actually being part of the Awana's theme nights and the kids loved him for that. He will truly be missed.

Brian was such an amazing person. He worked with my husband Dan Sullivan at Alltel for several years where they became great friends...almost like brothers. Our families would get together for cookouts and have fun times together. My husband adored Brian and respected him above so many. He learned a lot about leadership from Brian but more importantly, Brian was Dan's first real spiritual mentor. He encouraged Dan in so many ways. Dan even says and does things today that Brian inspired. Things like, in order to lead, you must first serve. We moved to Ohio 5 years ago, and Brian and Dan still kept in touch...usually asking questions or advice to each other about how to handle a work situation. Dan has been a manager of two stores in Ohio and has been a very strong, dependable leader in his company. Dan has also grown through the years as a Christian because of what he learned and saw in Brian's life. He even says from time to time, "That's what Brian taught me."
Brian, as your friend and Dan's wife....thank you from the bottom of my heart. We need more people like you to cross paths with. You and your family were precious to us. 
Carolyn, I can only imagine the emptiness you feel. Take one day at a time. Jesus is still there for you and your children and has great plans even through this time of sorrow. I pray he will strengthen you in the coming days and provide all you need to move forward with love and memories, but also an openness to the future.

You meant the world to us in  Salisbury, and your legacy will continue on through each life you touched.  You loved your family more than anything and for that you are a great man.   Heaven gained an angel and I'm sure you will lead those we have lost and keep them in line as you always did us.

From our first interview at Alltel, Brian told me he would do whatever it takes to be a leader.  I told him that it would be hard and he probably wouldn't make it.  That he had been tainted by the other company's culture and wouldn't fit in. That he would have to start over from scratch at the bottom rung of the ladder and prove himself for a year before he would even be considered for a promotion.  He told me that was ok, that he had a family to care for and he had something to prove. In the next 4 plus years he never stopped working to grow, improve, study, and sacrifice.  He met every challenge I gave him, and stood out among his peers.  He earned a leadership role in time, but wrestled with the tough decisions.. His heart was so big.  He just never wanted to allow anyone within his reach to fail.  He loved his wife and kids, and made his faith in God and commitment to his family a priority... and we often butted heads about the needs of the business and the need to balance family and work. Through him, i learned so much... Brian was one of a kind.  He drew people to him like moths to a flame, and he had so much more to offer. He will definitely be missed. My heartfelt prayers go out to Carolyn, Taylor, and lil Brian, as well as Brian's parents.  May God grant you the peace that passes all understanding.  Phil 4:7
