Brian Stuart King, 73, died Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at his residence. Born June 28, 1950, in Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of Clarence and Mildred Singleton King. Brian proudly served his country while in the United States Army and retired after 25 years from the Greensboro Police Department. He then spent 10 additional years with the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office.
Mr. King was preceded in death by his parents. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 49 years, Betti King; son, Jamie King (Lori); daughter, Kim Bartlett (Chris); grandchildren, Meghan Bartlett, Parker Bartlett, London King, Boston, King & Bristol King; siblings, Bruce King (Blanche), Janet Slominski (Gary), Gail Lombardi, & Patrice Kussmaul (Richard). Also surviving are many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and great friends.
Brian loved the outdoors and working around the house. He was a supporter of the Michigan Wolverines and spent many hours cheering them on from NC. Mostly he loved being a husband to Betti, a dad to Kim & Jamie and especially a Pop Pop to his 5 grandkids.
A celebration of Brian’s life with Honors by the Greensboro Police Honor Guard will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, October 26, at Advantage Funeral and Cremation Service, Greensboro, 1900 Vanstory Street.
