Brett Weldon Johnson was born in Wichita, Kansas, December 22, 1958 but, spent most of his life in Greensboro, NC. Brett worked his entire life in the food distribution industry where he made lifelong friends and memories. Brett is survived by his children who have been his pride and joy from the day he saw them, Tyler Boyer Johnson & Cody Boyer Johnson, and their mother Karen Boyer Johnson. He is also survived by his parents, whom he adored, Lanny Ross Johnson & Lora Wharton Johnson. And his siblings of which he was extremely close to; Randy (Sandy) Johnson, Theresa (Ray) Jones, Russ (Wendy) Johnson, and Cary (Ramona) Johnson Brett was well-loved by all of his nieces and nephews, their spouses, and significant others; his nieces and nephews are; Rachael Neece, Jenny Gray, Adam Johnson, Ashley Johnson Dickens, Allen Gray, Melissa Jones O’Connell, Ross Jones, Kelley Jones Hyde, Bryan Vigue, Chase Johnson, Emily Morgan, and Cara Johnson. He also has many little great-nieces and nephews that he was very proud of and loved so much. Brett wholeheartedly loved both family and friends. He had his best times at family functions watching his family love each other and make memories together. He never turned down a round of golf, a long laugh, or a good beer. He would want you to do the same to remember him. Brett is most remembered by his ability to connect with those he cared about and to always find a way to make them smile. Brett was taken from us way too soon on Monday, March 15, 2021 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital. A celebration of his life will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, March 20th at Sedgefield Presbyterian Church at 4216 Wayne Rd in Greensboro. Due to the pandemic, there will be a limited number of people allowed inside at one time. Out of respect for Brett and his family, we ask that you adhere to all social distancing guidelines. Visitation will last from 1 pm-4 pm. We know that there are many of you who would like to attend. To allow this, we have extended visitation hours and we ask that you please flow through and do not linger inside. While we want everyone to have their time of remembrance if you are experiencing Covid-19 symptoms or have been around someone that is experiencing symptoms do not come. The celebration will be recorded and live-streamed for those that are unable to make it. Brett was always most comfortable in khakis and a golf shirt, so please do not feel obligated to wear formal attire.
