Brenda May Strider, 72, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013 in Chesapeake, VA. Brenda was born on January 4, 1941 in Greensboro, NC, the daughter of Robert and Hattie Ayers Barrier. During her working career, Brenda worked with Blue Bell (Wrangler) and then for the Greensboro Police Department. Brenda was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She will be missed by all.
Brenda is survived by her daughter, Maria Chrismon and husband Jimmy of Myrtle Beach, SC and son, Chris Strider and wife Chrissie of Fernandina Beach, FL. Also surviving are three grandchildren; Meredith Chrismon, Holly Chrismon and Taylor Chrismon, all of Myrtle Beach, SC; two great grandchildren, Colby Certain and Annabella Certain, both of Myrtle Beach, SC; two sisters, Barbara Carroll of Greensboro, NC and Becky Yelton of Advance, NC.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel. Burial will be private.
