Brenda Norton Newkirk

Brenda Norton Newkirk, 57, a resident of Greensboro passed away unexpectedly on Thursday April 25, 2019 at Moses H. Cone Hospital. She was born December 18, 1961 in Guilford County, the daughter of William and Bonnie Honeycutt Norton.

Brenda attended Ragsdale High School and was a cook, working with several area cafe’s including Grove Street Café and the Coliseum Café.

She was married to Angelo Newkirk who preceded her in death on June 5, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her mother.

Brenda is survived by her son, Quintin Newkirk of Greensboro; daughter, Breanna Crosby and husband Tevin of Browns Summit; her father, William Norton of Greensboro; sisters; Toni N. Madden, Jean Norton, Linda N. Murray all of Greensboro and a niece, Valerie Murray of Greensboro.

There will be a Celebration of Life Service for Brenda at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday May 11, 2019 at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel. The family will receive friends that day from 1:00 p.m. until service time.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Brenda’s memory to the charity of the donor’s choice.
