Brenda Bame Bame Barnes

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at 4:00 pm at West Market Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Pam Strader officiating. The family will greet friends following the service in The Gathering Space.

Brenda Lea Bame was born in Greensboro to the late Ernest Wilson and Rachel Vernon Bame. Brenda grew up at Carolina Beach, North Carolina. She is a graduate of Catawba College with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. For the last twenty nine years she worked as a Doncaster Consultant.

Known for her kind heart, giving nature and strong Christian faith, Brenda was an active member of West Market Street United Methodist Church. She cherished her relationships with PEO, Symphony Guild Friends and The Bible Babes.

She was an avid stamper and a competitive Mah Jongg player and found much joy in cooking and entertaining. Family, friends and gardening were Brenda’s passion and great delight.

Brenda is survived by her adoring husband, Larry Barnes; two daughters, Mandy Gann Gooding (Rob) of Cary, NC, and Kristie Gann Ellis of Greensboro, NC; stepchildren, Larry Barnes, Jr. (Charlotte) of Wake Forest and Beverly Sizemore of Greensboro; nine beloved grandchildren, Gracie and Henry Ellis, Abbey and Vaughn Gooding, Margaret, Will and Ginny Barnes, and Lauren and Landon Sizemore; two brothers, Don (Lou) Bame and Phil (Diane) Bame; as well as many treasured nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

As a breast cancer survivor, in and recent years battling pancreatic cancer, Brenda inspired all those around her with her bravery, strength and positive attitude.
