Bobby Arnold Roach

Bobby Arnold Roach, 88, died Friday, July 22, 2022, at Moses Cone Hospital. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 31, at Rolling Roads Baptist Church, 2800 Vanstory Street. Bobby was born January 5, 1934, in Rutledge, TN, son of the late George Roach “Pete” and Ella Roach. He attended Carson-Newman College and proudly served his country while in the United States Army. Most of his career, Bobby worked in sales for food brokerage companies. For over 50 years, he was a member of Rolling Roads Baptist Church where he served in various positions.

Bobby was attentive to his family always making an extra effort to attend graduations, birthday parties, grandchildren’s sporting events and many other family functions. He enjoyed his two months stay in Florida where he made many friends along the way. Bobby was very independent, lived a healthy lifestyle and was an avid fan of all sports. He enjoyed conversations on many topics and themes. He was also quite a history buff whose knowledge expanded a wide range of areas to include political, American, and even Greensboro.

In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Roach; son, Steve Roach; grandson, Brad Parrish; siblings, Beatrice Roach, Ed Roach, Lucille Tigue, Elsie Northern, and G. O. Roach. He is survived by his daughters, Patricia (Ray) Parrish, Robin Pearson; step-children, David (Andrea) Nichols, Anne (Don) Contino; grandchildren, Christina (Matt) Crutcher, Josh Parrish, Rachel (Kenan) Convey, Lauren Johnson, Kelsey Johnson; great grandchildren, Max Parrish, Izzy Parrish, Eva Parrish, Dax Parrish and Oliver Parrish and sister, Agnes (Ferd) White. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended loving family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bobby’s memory to Rolling Roads Baptist Church, 2800 Vanstory Street, Greensboro, NC 27407.
