Bill McKenna

Bill was born November 22nd,1949 in Flushing, Queens, NYC, the youngest of 9, to the late Thomas and Florence McKenna. After graduating from St John’s University, he embarked on a 30+ year career with Burlington Industries where he met his wife, Colleen McKenna. Their work would eventually take then to Greensboro which they’ve called home since 1998. He later worked as a Financial Advisor, sharing his love for investing, saving and planning with a wonderful group of clients he called friends.

An avid golfer, Bill relished time spent on the fairways of the Cardinal and Sedgefield. At the age of 70, he scored his 1st hole-in-one, continued to use the same ball, and lost it in the creek on his very next tee shot. His golfing adventures took him all over the world, creating memories that will be cherished forever.

Bill is survived by the love of his life Colleen McKenna, his 3 sons, Sean (Jen) McKenna, Billy McKenna, & Colin (Sierra) McKenna, his sisters Dolores and Tiffy, 4 grandchildren, and countless nieces & nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his name to the Alzheimer’s Association.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 am on Monday, May 12, 2025 at St. Pius X Catholic Church.
