Greensboro-Mrs. Betty Cox Cooper was reunited with her son, Robert Michael Cooper and her Savior, Jesus Christ on January 20, 2015. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be at 2 PM, Friday, January 23 at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel with Reverend Lawrence Clapp officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 PM prior to the service.
Betty was born in Guilford County to the late Grover Cleveland and Minnesota Hughes Cox. She was the youngest of twelve children and has been preceded by all her siblings. She was a woman of faithful conviction and her life illustrated her love of her Lord and her compassion for others. Betty was a generous woman and a true Southern classy lady. She was a wonderful cook, enjoyed gardening and was an avid reader. She was a long time member of Rocky Knoll Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. She and her husband were doting grandparents and enjoyed many trips to Disney World with their grandsons. Her friends, neighbors and family will remember her loving and kind spirit.
She is survived by her husband of sixty eight years, Charles D. “CD” Cooper of the home, children, Natalie (Keith) Dickerson of Pleasant Garden and LuAnn Jackson of Charlotte; grandchildren, Aaron Ransom, James Jackson and Christopher Jackson; and great granddaughter, Karmen Jackson.
