Betty Lou Cleveland

Betty Lou Cleveland, 88, a resident of Greensboro passed away on Friday December 8, 2023. She was born May 12, 1935 in Baltimore, Maryland the daughter of the late Richard Venable and Mary Eulalia Cole Gillespie.

Betty was raised in Washington, DC and attended Sacred Heart School and graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Washington, DC. She was Librarian and Media Specialist at St. Matthias the Apostle School n Lanham, MD for 28 years.

She was married to Jack Alva Cleveland who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her sons, James "Jim" Alan Cleveland and wife Laureen, Jeffrey Andrew Cleveland and wife Theresa, John Alva Cleveland and wife Kathy; six grandchildren, Jennifer Nicole Eller, Andrew Ross Cleveland, Megan Cleveland Brennan, Caitlin Cole Cleveland, Kirsten Elizabeth Whited, Jonathan Alan Cleveland and seven great grandchildren, Madeline Grace Eller, Liam Thomas Eller, Everly Caroline Cleveland, Vera Louise Cleveland, Olivia Mae Cleveland, Liam Ryley Cleveland and Harvey Alan Cleveland.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday December 14, 2023 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Betty’s memory to the Foundation Fighting Blindness, the Alzheimer’s Research Foundation and the American Cancer Society.
