A graveside service will be held Friday, January 16, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Lakeview Memorial Park. Family visitation will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2015 from 6pm-8pm at Hanes Lineberry North Elm Chapel.
He was born to the late William and Lillian Mallory Fuller in Pageton, West Virginia. Benton retired from the United States Army with twenty-two years of service. He served with the 82nd and 101st Air Borne and 107th Infantry Divisions. He was a Veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He received a Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and was a member of the Queens Cobras. He also served as a military photographer.
Benton enjoyed fishing, golfing and watching westerns.
Benton was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Simpson Fuller; his parents; and siblings, Bill and Nina. He is survived by his children, Billy Fuller and fiance’ Lydia of Thomasville, Benton Fuller and wife Anita, and Lisa Estes and husband Ron, both of Greensboro; grandchildren, Amy, Michael, David, Billy, Elizabeth, Daniel, Marc, Aaron, Craig, Kandice, and Jerrod; great grandchildren, Ryleigh ,Sophia, Juan, Joseph, Alexander and Madison; siblings, Gaye (Carl) and Buddy (Judy) and Audrey.
