My heart was broken when I heard the news of Barry's passing. We served togeather in the military (82d Abn. Div). Barry was such a great person always ready to help when needed. R.I.P. My airborne brother, you will never be forgotten.

It's hard to process it. Barry was my dad's best friend, and such a great father to my own friend, and I can't fathom him ever giving up those titles. I've gone back to times in my head where we'd be fishing at the lake, or eating pizza while playing card games in my living room, or going down the slides at the pool in Carolina Beach. It hurts to know that he won't physically be here to experience any more of those moments, but I'm comforted that his spirit will live on in those who loved him, and we will live and cherish those moments for him. Barry meant - and means - so much to so many people. We experienced a great loss but also gained something incredible for having had him in our lives in the first place.

Barry and I grew up fishing together. To this day, I am not sure who loved fishing more. When we would run across each other all he could talk about was his family and fishing. Which was perfect!  Although our lives went in different directions, there will always be a special place for him in my heart. He was always a good man. I hope that you will find peace knowing he was so loved and I am sure that god has a special place for him too.

Barry was a long time good friend and confidant to many folks including myself and my 84 year old mother. Most everything I know of hunting or fishing I learned from listening to or watching Barry. I can almost hear the excitement in his voice when he spoke of either sport. He was always there for others with a smile, a shoulder to lean on and a helping hand when needed. Mother and I will miss his sweet, kind and heartfelt demeanor. Please know that Barry loved you so much and may you find solace in the treasured moments you shared.

i really don't know what to say my heart is very sad right now he was my friend for 30+ years we had some great times together as roomates hunting buddies and fishing parteners he loved music and i did to.so it was a instant friendship he made me laugh alot. there wasn't anything he would'nt do for you if he could.Hannah and Carol words cannot touch the heartfelt sadness that you two and his friends have right now.Only time will ease this.My friend has moved on to the best fishing spot in the whole world im sure when we see each other again he will have some great spots picked out and stories of the one that didn't get away.I will miss you my friend.

Barry wore many hats in life. Father, Husband, Son, Caregiver, Friend, Sportsman and Soldier to name a few.  He left a positive mark on every person that he came into contact with.  Carol and Hannah, words cannot begin to express how sorry we all are for the loss of Barry.  Know we are here for you and we are praying for you each and every day.

Dear Carol and Hannah,

Words cannot describe the heart felt sympathy I have for you in this most difficult time. Barry was the most generous, kindest person that was always there to help anyone that need his help and never asked or expected anything in return. He touched so many peoples lives in a most positive way. I loved Barry like a brother and now more than ever I am so glad we told each other that as we were growing older. I was truly blessed with his friendship for over 30 years. He will forever be in my heart and like you and Hannah, there will not be a day that goes by that I wont think of him. I already miss him so much and life will never be the same for us without him.

Barry was a good man, avid sportsman who loved his family.   He was a big support to his Mom and several others.   He will be missed.

I was sorry to hear of Barry's passing.  I worked with Barry at Chick-Fil-A, Four Season's Mall.  Although Barry's gone, he won't be forgotten.  "May God bless you all"!

Barry was more than a friend to us here in Georgia.  He was a brother to Johnny and a uncle to Rose.  We will never forget his visits to spend time with us and how much fun he had fishing in Georgia. I don't even know what to say here. This wasn't supposed to happen this way or not for a very long time. Daddy was just an incredible person, even if he didn't realize it. I hope he knows it now how much people cared and still care about him. I love him so much and will miss him every second of every day. Nothing I say here will be good enough to describe all that he was and just how much I love him. I will miss seeing his goofiness and just hearing his voice. I want to hug him so bad it hurts. I think about all the things that he won't be here for and it doesn't seem at all fair. It doesn't make any sense. Maybe it will one day, but that doesn't help to ease the pain right now. He was so loved. I certainly hope he knew that. And if he didn't I know he does now.

I didn't see Barry very much but when I did it meant that we would have a great time. He was so goofy and awesome that it was hard not to laugh when he was around, my prayers go out to you and I love you

Barry was my cousin, but he was more of a friend. On my many visits to north carolina I always looked forward to seeing Him like the rest of my family. We both had the hunting bug and his cross bow convinced me that I needed one. He grilled my girlfriend and I a steak and pineapple slices last time I saw him. I will think on meal many times from now on and smile!

I met Barry thru a dear friend of mine and he was such a nice guy. Would do for anyone and love to help out the elderly. I am so sorry the family's loss and will keep them in my thoughts and prayers.

I will never know any words that could possibly convey to you how very, very sad I am over Barry leaving this earth so soon.  He was so many things to so many people.  He was my "heart" brother, my helper, but more than anything, he was my friend.  I know you will miss him more than anybody, but just remember that there are a lot of people who loved him and who love you both.  Prayers are being sent to Heaven daily with your name on them.

Barry was one of the sweetest, gentlest, kindest man. I didn't see him often but when I did it was always like yesterday. He did so much for so many others and always with a smile. He will be greatly missed by his family and all of those whose life he touched. We will never forget your smiling face!

God bless you Hannah and your Mom. Sorry to hear about you Dad.He was always such a great neighbor and your Grandmother I lived beside of for 30 plus years. Such great neighbors and friends to me. Barry would help me with anything I ask after my husband went to heaven. He will be missed so much for I know many people he helped out with repairs or chores that needed to be done.God bless all family. Another Solider has gone home.

I've known Barry/Mr. Wilson since I was seven years old. I've been best friends with his daughter since I was seven years old. In all that time, I've gotten to know him as a goofy and lovable man who could make anyone laugh. He would take all of us to the pool or to the fair. But my favorite memory of him is after a football game. I was sitting in the car with Hannah and her mom while Barry was sitting in the car next to us. As I was talking to Hannah, I looked over and Barry was dancing (quite energetically). I couldn't hear the music but just watching him dance made us all laugh, which we needed after such a terrible football game. I will miss Mr. Wilson very much, but I know that he left behind a wonderful daughter who can carry on his fun and lovable nature. I send my condolences and prayers to the entire family.
