She passed away November 11, 2022.
A visitation will be held on Thursday November 17th at Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home at 6000 Gate City Boulevard, Greensboro NC {Sedgefield Chapel) at 11:00 am prior to a service in the Chapel at Noon, and a graveside service and interment immediately following at Guilford Memorial Park.
Her parents were Curtis D Jobe & Nellie Southard Jobe. She is one of 11 children.
Ashlyn attended People’s Bible School and Sedgefield High School.
She was employed with Richardson Vicks Chemical Company. Ashlyn was an entrepreneurial business woman. Her work ethic was unprecedented. She was a representative for Koscot & Hazel Keller Cosmetics, and Princess House. She was also the sole distributor for Litton Microwave Ovens in NC, educating others about microwaves before they were commonplace. She was a sales representative for Vacu-Flo built in home vacuums. She owned several real estate properties. Ashlyn was the owner of Roberts Lawn Care company for forty years and never minded working hard and outdoors along with her crew no matter the weather.
She is survived by her children Lois Vaughn (Jones) Schaffer, Bryan Jones (Katie Hayes), Joel Roberts (Beth). Grandchildren, Christopher Bryan Jones, Stephanie Lynn Jones (Steve Griffin), Benjamin J. Roberts, one great-grandson, Connor Griffin. She is also survived by her sisters, Hazel Wisdom Coose, Mary Jobe Wallace, and Brenda Jobe Loftis.
She is predeceased by her parents, her step-mother Frances Jobe, and her brothers Luke Jobe, and Charles Jobe. Her sisters, Mettawee Jobe, Catherine Jobe Stewart, Melba Ann Jobe, Juanita Jobe Coose, Nancy Jobe Mahood. Her husband Robert Paul Landreth, Sr.
Ashlyn was kind and loving, working hard to provide for her three children as a single mother. Ashlyn was very fond of traveling and took her children to visit a great portion of the U.S., enjoying family trips with her brother Charles.
Ashlyn’s family members built the Gospel Chapel Church off of Osborne Road.
The church was the foundation for her strong faith and Christian beliefs. She and her sisters performed hymns in various churches around the community.
She possessed a lovely singing voice. She always had time for others and had a generous spirit and was very social, never hesitating to employ folks needing jobs or to find places to live for them through her rental properties.
We are grateful for the excellent home care received from the staff of AuthoraCare/Hospice, Greensboro, NC for their care of Ashlyn these past few months.
