Arthur Chadwick Merrell

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 1, 2016, at Hermitage Baptist Church Cemetery, 814 Jefferson Davis Highway, Camden, SC.

Chad was born February 16, 1947, in Camden, SC to Willard and Lois Merrell. He graduated from the University of South Carolina, School of Engineering with a BS in Electrical Engineering. During the Vietnam War, Chad proudly served his country in the United States Army.

After 31 ½ years, Chad retired from BASF. From 2006-2013, he was employed with CH2MHILL.

Mr. Merrell was preceded in death by his father, Willard Merrell. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jo H. Merrell; son, Dr. Chad Merrell and wife Tricia; mother, Lois B. Merrell and his grandchildren, Preston, Mary Grace and Thomas Merrell.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Friday, September 30, at Hanes Lineberry North Elm Chapel, 515 North Elm Street.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Chad’s memory to Happy Hearts Fund, Holy Trinity Day School, 607 North Greene Street, Greensboro, NC 27401.
