Anne, better known to loved ones as “Annie B”, was born on October 3rd, 1935, in Rocky Mount NC to the late Eugenie (Genie) Bergeron Bunn and George Westray (GW) Bunn, and grew up in Spring Hope, NC. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Joe Christian, MD, and her brother, Westray Bunn.
She is survived by children, Kathryn Christian Bender, Teresa Lee Christian, Paula Christian Hodges (Johnny Hodges), and Stephen Joseph Christian (Susan Allred Christian); grandchildren include Emily Bender (John Tumolo), Alex Bender (Adrienne Midash), Austin Johns Salkeld (Aaron Salkeld), Anne-Christian Johns, Michael Hodges (Stephanie Hodges), Brian Hodges (Bri Hodges), Jeanne Hodges (Jimmy Simpson), Joe Christian, and Will Christian; great-grandchildren include Jack, Joe and Josh Tumolo, Declan and Maddox Bender, Bridger and Forrest Salkeld, Christian and Ellis Hodges, and Gray and Turner Hodges; niece and nephew Martha Bunn and David Bunn.
She attended St Mary’s and then married the love of her life, Joe Christian. She cherished being a wife and mother to their four children. She was active in the Wildwood Garden Club, the Round Table Study Club, First Baptist Church Greensboro, the Guilford County Medical Auxiliary, the Greensboro Power Squadron, and her girls’ group, The Gin Rummy Club. Anne also contributed significantly to the creation of The Bog Garden in Greensboro.
Annie B embodied the best of a bygone generation. She was a true Southern Belle who was gracious, beautiful, elegant, and kind. She had a loving heart and never spoke an unkind word. She loved her family, flowers, children, animals, and her home. She mastered the beautiful arts of calligraphy, flower arranging, and organ/piano playing.
She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.

A Celebration of Life will be held at First Baptist Church Greensboro in the Chapel on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at 1:00 pm. The family will receive visitors following the service.
