Ann Elizabeth Banner, 73 of 1804 Dante Lane passed into the Arms of her Heavenly Father on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at Beacon Place Hospice Home in Greensboro, NC. Ann was born May 10, 1949 in Forsyth County, NC one of four children born to Richard Spencer and Mary Ann (Hairston) Totten (both deceased).
Ann was a retired nurse of 43 years serving in several nursing capacities in her long career. Her love of children led her to Pediatrics for the last 20 years of her career. Ann retired from Triad Adult and Pediatric Medicine (formerly Guilford Child Health) where she was selected to serve as Clinic Nurse Liaison to Pediatric Residents with Moses Cone Pediatric Teaching Service. While serving in that position Ann received several accolades including an Outstanding Nurse Award given by the UNC-Chapel Hill Pediatric Residents.
As a member of Friends United in Christ Church of Walkertown, NC, Ann had an unwavering belief in God and family. She so loved people and never met a stranger. She could make anyone feel comfortable in her presence whether see knew them of not.
Ann was an avid reader of books, world traveler and loved sewing and doing crafts. Ann has traveled the world including China, Australia, Israel, Africa and Europe.
For 52 years Ann was a devoted and loving wife to Kenneth W. Banner whom she is survived by. Kenneth and Ann have a son Kenneth (Chandra) Banner, Jr. and two lovely grandchildren Matthew and Camille Banner of Garner, NC who she loved with all her being.
Ann was sister to Walter S. Totten, deceased and sister in law Jean Totten of McDonough, GA, Reverend James W. (Linda) Totten of Walkertown, NC and Ethel Jones of Walkertown, NC.
She was blessed with a host of relatives and a large circle of friends and church members that she cherished and they cherished her.
A visitation with the family will be held December 11, 2022 from 3:00 to 4:00pm at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel 6000 West Gate City Blvd in Greensboro, NC.
