Mrs. Angela van Zee

The funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Grace Church on Monday December 13 at noon followed by a graveside service at Guilford Memorial Park on High Point Road. The family will receive guests after the services at 1613 Marion Street. Please donate to the Kidney or Diabetes Foundation in lieu of flowers. Angela was born January 16, 1929 in Tilburg, The Netherlands. The family immigrated to the U.S. after two years in Canada and made Greensboro their home. She became a US Citizen in 1969. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Anthony van Zee, Sr. in 1989. She is survived by four children: Johanna van Zee of Rockingham; Harrie van Zee and wife Jopie of Waalwijk, The Netherlands; Maria van Zee of Greensboro; and John van Zee, Jr. and wife Kim of Stokesdale. Her grandchildren are Angela Clemmons of Liberty and Andrew van Zee of Waalwijk, The Netherlands and the great-grandsons are Caleb and Zachary Clemmons of Liberty.

“Mom organized the best Easter and Christmas celebrations. She knitted the most intricate sweaters for us. All of her family and dozens of nurses who have cared for her own hand crocheted afghans. Mom loved with her hands.”
