Amy Elizabeth Lilly, 48, of High Point, NC left our lives suddenly on February 23, 2018. Amy was a beautiful, free spirited person, an exceptional mother who was devoted to her daughter, Tori, (Victoria Shea) Teague. She loved her many friends and family dearly.
After graduation from Sanderson High School, Amy went to Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, NC where she was on the ski team. She graduated in 1989 with an Associate of Science in Business Management and in 1993 earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Business Management and Marketing at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. She began her career in the food service industry working as a summer intern with Tyson Foods, INC in Arkansas. She excelled in her career as a Food Service Executive with Regional Management positions at Perdue Farms, INC in New England. She continued her career with Laura’s Lean Beef, INC, in Lexington, KY and Acosta Sales and Marketing in Maryland. She returned to North Carolina to serve as a Sales Manager with Supreme Foods and later with Reinhart Food Service, LLC. Her knowledge of the food industry was exceptional, as she received numerous awards in the Food Service Industry for her many accomplishments.
Amy won a valiant 5 year battle with lymphoma.
Her greatest pride in life was being Tori’s mother, nothing was better for Amy than being with Tori. She loved taking Tori new places and doing fun things together.
Amy was fortunate to have a large family who loved her beautiful smile, quick wit and humor. She will be remembered for her happy laugh, a quick hug and her generosity to others. She loved her friends and enjoyed spending time with them and helping in any way she could.
She is predeceased in death by her brother, Robbie (Robert Nathan) Lilly; and her grandmothers, Beulah B. “Boots” Wooton of Beckley, WV and Carolyn R. Russell of Raleigh, NC.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Tori (Victoria Shea) Teague; her mother, Marsha W. Lilly; her dad, Robert L. Hinton, JR, both of Raleigh, NC; her sister, Natalee Lilly Hardin, (William); nieces, Mackenzie and Madison Hardin; nephews, Will and Connor Hardin. Her extended family includes uncles, William R. “Bill” and Shir Wooton, both of Beckley, WV, James R. “Jim” and Suzanne Wooton of Baltimore, MD, John D. and Tara Wooton of Lewisburg, WV, Edward E. Wooton of Petersburg, WV, Thomas L. “Tom” Wooton, Fredric L. “Fred” and Debra Wooton all of Beckley, WV and Paul A. and Nancy Wilder of Raleigh, NC; her many cousins include Paul A. Wilder, Jr., Robby Wooton, Richy and Shannon Wooton, Rusty and Michele Wooton, Jody and Kate Wooton, Clint and Jennifer Wooton, Blair Wooton, Anne Wooton Pierron (Paul), TJ Wooton, Patrick Wooton, Bryce, Abby and Maya, Baylor, Berkeley, Bo Winter, Katelyn and Robert Wooton and Bailey, Kellan and Peyton Heffernan.
A Memorial Celebration of Amy’s happy life will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, 3 March, at Hanes- Lineberry Funeral Home at 1900 Vanstory Street, Greensboro, NC, 27403. Following the service, all are invited to visit with the family and lunch will be served.
