Alice Faye Mitchell

After a long life filled with many friends and blessings, Alice Faye Mitchell of Greensboro, North Carolina passed away peacefully on Friday, January 12, 2024, at the age of ninety-two. Faye was born in 1931 in Amelia County, Virginia, and was the loving wife of C W Mitchell, whom she traveled with and deeply cherished for over fifty-six years. She is preceded in death by her husband C W Mitchell, her parents William and Beatrice Manuel, and her nine brothers and sisters. She is survived by daughter Kathy and husband Charles Varner and son Kenneth and wife Tamie Mitchell. She is also survived by grandchildren Jennifer Mangum (Tim), Bonnie Beebe (Justin), Adam and Jared Mitchell, Robin Campbell, and Gabe Boyett (Codie), great-grandchildren Grayson (Fiona), Ethan (Haley), Jordan, Tori, Lane (Kelli), Kinsy, Becca, Kaily, Emma, Zachary, great-great-grandchildren Eason, Piper, and Takoda.

Visitation with the family will be on Saturday, January 20, 2024, from 1:30- 2:30 pm with Funeral services being held at 2:30 pm at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 West Gate City Blvd, Greensboro, NC 27407. Rev. Brian Clark will be officiating the service with burial following in Guilford Memorial Park, 6000 West Gate City Blvd., Greensboro, NC 27407.

The family would like to thank Brookdale Senior Living, Gentiva Hospice, and all of those who have lifted her up in prayer. Contributions in her memory may be made to Friendship Baptist Church, 9696 US Hwy 220 Bus N, Randleman, North Carolina 27317.

The family will receive friends other times at the home of Kathy and Charles Varner.
