

born on February 2, 1966 in Lagos, Nigeria to Chief Adebayo Alugbin and Mrs.
Elizabeth Obadiaru. Adesola was the 3rd eldest in the Alugbin family and was
often responsible for gathering the family together. From an early age, Adesola
understood the importance of maintaining family connections and friendships.
Adesola attended Sacred Heart Private School, Oke-Ado in Ibadan, Nigeria for
her primary education and Federal Government Girls’ College in Owerri, Nigeria
for her secondary education. In 1983, Adesola left for the United States to pursue
further education. Adesola graduated from Saint Joseph’s University with her Bachelor’s degree in
Accounting. She continued on to Drexel University to earn her Master degree in
Finance. In 2000, she became a Certified Public Accountant and a member of
the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
Adesola welcomed two children in 1989 and 1992. Through mutual friends,
Adesola was introduced to Olajide Onikoyi. On February 19, 2000 they married
and became a blended family of seven. In 2003, they welcomed Aminat and
became a family of eight.
Adesola loved to serve the Lord and embodied her beliefs in her daily actions.
She was a founding member of the Redeemed Christian Church of God - Living
Waters and Redeemed Christian Church of God - Christ’s Center Assembly.
Adesola also served as the accounting officer in both churches and held other
positions during her fellowship, including leading the Women of Favor
Fellowship and the ushering department. She was never interested in titles; all
she wanted to do was serve her Almighty Father.
Adesola is survived by her husband, 5 children, 3 grandchildren, parents, several
siblings, and several friends turned family. Though she will be deeply missed by
all, all are thankful she is able to rejoice with the Lord in paradise.
