Mr. Brobeck was retired.
He was a very loving husband, father, and grandfather, who was an avid sports fan and a former boxer in Golden Gloves.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years: Gaynell Brobeck; son: Shawn Brobeck; two daughters and one son-in-law: Tracy and James Shetley and Ashley Brobeck and fiancée Luc Jackson; three grandchildren: Landon McLain, Zoey Harrison, and Gabrial Knicely; two great grandchildren: Ayeden Jackson and Lexus Jackson; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Kathy and Wayne Riddle, Sandra and Mike Davis, and Rita and Melvin Hardy; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Fred and Lorraine Brobeck and Jim and Ruth Brobeck; sister-in-law: Wanda Brobeck; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Clyde and Joanne Smelcer, Billy and Jolene Smelcer, Claude and Lois Smith, Sue and Robert Conner, Katherine Dean, Vergie Doud, Barbara Smelcer, Francis Smelcer; special friends: Ron Murray and Chasity McLain; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was the son of the late Marne and Flossie Brobeck and was preceded in death by a son: Gregory Scott Brobeck; two brothers: Marne Brobeck Jr. and Marvin Brobeck; and two sisters: Nancy Taylor and Louise Lee.
The family will receive friends 6-8pm Friday and 2-4 and 6-8pm Saturday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 2pm Sunday, April 14, 2013, in Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel with Rev. Wayne Riddle officiating.
Interment will follow in River Hill Cemetery.
Family and friends will be pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Riddle, Marnie Brobeck, Dr. Aasheim and staff, fifth floor staff at Johnson City Medical Center, ICU staff at Johnson City Medical Center, Billy Ray Johnson, Jerico Johnson, and Billy Hensley.
