Mr. Huff retired from BASF, formerly American ENKA, after 37 years of service.
He also farmed in the Orebank community, where he grew up and raised his family.
Mr. Huff was a cannonier and a member of the 1st East Tennessee Battery B and attended many Civil War reenactments. He was also a strong supporter of the Shriners Children's Hospitals.
He attended Orebank School and was a 1947 graduate of McDonald High School.
Mr. Huff was the widower of Geneva Massey Huff, his wife of 54 years, who died February 17, 2004.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Hank and Kay Huff of Mosheim; two daughters and sons-in-law: Angela Huff and Ronnie Ricker of Afton and Beverly and David Shelton of Greeneville; his grandchildren and their spouses: Thad and Kim Ragan of Jacksonville, Fla., Amy and David Weems of Greeneville, Kelly and Jamie Lamons of Chuckey, and TeAnna Huff and Maggie Shelton, both of Greeneville; his great-grandchildren: Kaylee Ragan and Isaac Ragan, both of Jacksonville, and Cole Lamons, Connor Lamons, Adaley Lamons, and Jackson Weems, all of Greeneville; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Wayland and Wilma Huff and Jerald and Peggy Huff, of the Orebank community; three sisters: Helen Mashburn of Greeneville, Gladys Keller of the Ottway community, and Geneva Taylor of Midway; his sisters-in-law: Edith Haney of Limestone and Elizabeth Massey of Greeneville; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend: Sally Hamilton.
He was a son of the late Wilbur Monroe and Maggie Bell Hogan Huff.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will follow visitation at 8 o'clock in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Jim Fain and the Rev. Keith Williams will officiate.
A committal service will be held at 1:30 Tuesday afternoon in Pine Grove Cemetery.
Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 12:45 to travel in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Randy Mashburn, Devin Mashburn, Mike Keller, Alfred Taylor, Kay Huff, Ricky Huff, Tim Massey, and Edwin Haney.
Honorary pallbearers will be the staffs and employees of Signature HealthCARE, Courtyards Senior Living Center in Johnson City, and Four Oaks Health Care of Jonesborough.
