Wanda “Madge” Marshall, age 96 passed away February 7, 2022 at the Tennessee State Veterans Home in Murfreesboro, TN. A native of Greene County, she was the daughter of the late Homer and Bessie (Hayes) Ridley. Mrs. Marshall was also preceded in death by her husband Ray McKinley Marshall and daughter, Brenda Marshall Dinkins.
Survivors include her daughter Kathy and son-in-law Gary Massey of Murfreesboro, TN., her grandson Brian Massey and his wife, Haley of Birmingham, AL and three great-grandchildren: Ben, Ava and Kate Massey also of Birmingham.
Mrs. Marshall retired from Rhea Floral Company after thirty years of service. She loved working with flowers and believed they were a gift from God.
Mrs. Marshall was a Christian and faithful member of Harmon’s Valley United Methodist Church, where she attended for 85 years. She was an active member of the Mosheim Garden and Arts Club, The Red Hat Society, and Mohawk Girls until her physical health declined and she relocated to Murfreesboro in May 2019 to be with her family.
Visitation with the family will be 4pm-7pm Wednesday, February 9th at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home in Greeneville. Funeral service will be conducted at 11am Thursday, February 10th at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Chapel with interment in Harmon’s Valley Methodist Church cemetery. Rev. Charles Lindy will officiate.
Active pallbearers will be: Terry Hartman, Reece Baughard, Everett Scott, Bobby Freshour, David Gass and Roger Miller.
Honorary pallbearers will be J.D. Couch, Linda Hartman, Tamara Wilcox, Lance Hartman, Kyle Gass, Billy Don Marshall and Tim Marshall.
Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
