He was a member of Greeneville Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years: Dovina Johnson; two sons and a daughter-in-law: Brian and Christina Johnson and Timothy Johnson of Greeneville; grandsons: Benjamin Johnson, Lucas Johnson, and Dillon Hipsher; sisters: Betty Luttrell, Louise Hensley, Ruby Taylor, and Doris Brown, all of Greeneville; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Frank and Deane Smith of Newport; brother-in-law: Doug Smith of Charleston, South Carolina; several nieces and nephews; and his special friends: Linda Garza, Delylah Castro, Leslie Castro, Joelind Castro, and Jaileen Castro.
He was the son of the late Martin and Evelyn Dixon Johnson.
The family will receive friends 4-7 pm Friday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
Following visitation, the funeral service will be held at 7 pm Friday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Shane Hoover officiating.
Interment will be at 10 am Saturday in Shiloh Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at 9 am Saturday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery for the committal service.
