He retired from Kaydon Corporation and later in the produce department at Food City #8.
He attended Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church as long as his health permitted and he was a member of the Greeneville Masonic Lodge #3, Jericho Shrine and the Greeneville Moose Lodge.
He was a loving husband, father, brother and brother-in-law.
We will surely miss that sweet smile and the love and care he had for everyone. He was always willing to help others and put everyone before himself.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita Buckner Hensley; two special children he raised and loved as though they were his own, they were the loves of his life and best friends: Harley and Mason Laws; sisters, Phyllis Kreeger and Hope Ann Ball; niece, Heather Jones; nephews, Kip Kreeger, Todd Laughlin and Lance Laws; sister-in-law, Anna Mae Laughlin Thompson, who was very special to him - he loved her as a sister - she was so good to him during his illness; and brother-in-law, Johnny Thompson, also had a special place in Stanley’s heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carter and Elsie Hensley; father-in- law and mother-in-law, Frank and Dollie Buckner; brothers-in-law, N.L. Buckner, Ruben Laughlin, Buddy Kreeger, Gary Ball; a very special nephew, Hunter Laws; and a very special niece, Maria Laws.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 and 5:00-7:00 PM Monday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home with masonic services to follow the visitation conducted by Greeneville Lodge #3 F&AM.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday at Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Gragg officiating. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service.
Entombment will follow in GreeneLawn Mausoleum.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Thompson, Todd Laughlin, Butch Shaw, Alfred Shaw, Max Sauls, Lewis Stroud, Stacey Hensley, Ronnie Noland and James Tomlinson.
Honorary Pallbearers are Dr. Charles Montgomery and staff, Dr. David Jones and staff, Judge John Wilson, Richard Jones, Anthony Livesay, Sunday School class at Oak Grove, Dr. Tumker and staff, Mark Phillips, Kevin Broyles and Chad Cannon.
The family extends a special thanks to Smoky Mountain Hospice for their love and care, and a very special neighbor, Barbara Knight.
