She retired from the Greene County School System.
Mrs. Tipton was a member of Fairview Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
She was a member of WOTM of the Moose Club of Greeneville, Chapter 1598, and the VFW Women’s Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband: Rayburn Baxter Tipton; two daughters and son-in-law: Julia and David Bell of Morristown and Linda Ellenburg of Greeneville; step-sons: Jeffery Tipton of New Berg, Indiana, Rick Tipton and Greg Tipton of Greeneville, and Roger Tipton of Chuckey; step-daughter: Sherrie Tipton of Evansville, Indiana; favorite granddaughter: Ashley Ellenburg; grandsons: Adam Chandley and Jonathan Bell; several step-grandsons and step-granddaughters; great granddaughter and three step great granddaughters; two sisters and a brother-in-law: Marlene and Ben Dunavent and Betty Hankins; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the daughter of the late Ruby and Grady Lafollette and was preceded in death by her mother-in-law and father-in-law: Orlie and Chester Tipton; and her sons: Robert Michael Blanton and Robert Martin Blanton, Jr.
The family will receive friends from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm Sunday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
Following visitation, the funeral service will be held at 8pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ronnie Duncan officiating.
Interment will be at 2pm Monday at Andrew Johnson Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at 1:30pm Monday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Eric Hankins, Roger Tipton, Jonathan Bell, Rick Tipton, and Ben Lee Dunavent.
