She was a former employee of Parks-Belk and made custom drapes when she was owner/operator of Gibbs Drapery.
Mrs. Gibbs was a member of Solomon Lutheran Church where she taught the Adult Ladies Sunday School Class for many years.
She was a volunteer at Laughlin Memorial Hospital as long as her health permitted.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Carol and Dr. Bob Hartman of Greeneville; grandsons: Kevin Wilhoit and wife, Dr. Sarah, of Searcy, Arkansas, Dr. Jerry Wilhoit and wife, Deanna, of Greeneville; great grandchildren: Darius Hoese and wife, Whitney, of Greeneville, Kenan Wilhoit and fiancé, Makayla Neas, of Greeneville, Javan Wilhoit of Greeneville, Peyton Wilhoit of Searcy, Arkansas; four sisters: Albernette Wills of Greeneville, Marie Walden of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Ophilia Lowe of Paducah, Kentucky, Elsie Fly of Ft. Scott, Kansas; several nieces and nephews; and her loving caregivers, the staff at Wellington Place of Greeneville.
She was the daughter of the late T. M. and Lubie Adams and was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Woodrow Gibbs; a sister, Pearl Louise Adams; a brother, Rev. Paul Marvin Adams; brothers-in-law: Tom Lowe, E. O. Willis, Charles Walden, Rev. Robert Fry, and Olsie Gibbs; and a sister-in-law, Selma Lowery.
The family will receive friends 12-2 pm Sunday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
Following visitation, the funeral service will be held at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Larry Moore and Rev. Willis Bowers officiating.
Interment will follow in Solomon Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Rev. David Gibbs, Larry Jenkins, W. C. Wilhoit, Eric Wilhoit, Charles Kinser, and Bobby Solomon.
