He retired from Summers-Taylor Inc., where he was the roller man.
Mr. Key was a member of Hardin’s Chapel United Methodist Church and Hardin’s Chapel Ruritan Club.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years: Lucille Manis Key; son: Leroy Key and Barbie Graham; daughter and son-in-law: Debbie and Doug Cogburn; grandchildren: Jessica Hope, Lillie Cowles and husband, Stewart, Lydia Cogburn, Sarah Key and Cameron Key; great grandchildren: Kathryn and Susan Hope; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Kenneth and Kathy Manis, Tommy and Geraldine Manis, George and Betsy Manis, Louise Manis, Betty Cox, and Betty Ragsdale; and several special nieces and nephews.
He was the son of the late Charlie William and Bertie Starnes Key and was preceded in death by three brothers: James, Luther, and Charlie Denton Key; and two sisters, Loraine Taylor and Louise Taylor.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 pm Monday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 2 pm Tuesday, March 15, 2016 in the funeral home chapel with Wade McAmis, Rev. Bill Hughes, and Rev. Oscar McAmis officiating.
Interment will follow in Cross Anchor Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be his nephews.
Honorary Pallbearers are the members of Hardin’s Chapel Ruritan Club, Adult Bible Class of Hardin’s Chapel UM Church, employees of Summers –Taylor Inc., and his bowling friends.
