He was a brick mason for over 40 years.
Mr. Sexton was a non-denominational Christian.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Vietnam.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years: Sharon Sexton; a daughter: Ronda Sexton; son and daughter-in-law: Chad and Erica Hinkle; step-son and spouse: Daniel and Melanie Cutshaw; grandchildren: Jase, Lexi, Makayla, Ethan, and Aleesa; brother and sister-in-law: Tim and Brenda Sexton; and his little buddy, "Bully".
He was the son of the late Gilbert and Marie Sexton and was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jessica Sexton, and a sister, Diana Sexton.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
Following visitation, the funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Paul Ragon officiating.
Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Carter's Station UMC Cemetery. The Greene County Honor Guard and the Tennessee National Guard will conduct a military graveside service. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the committal service.
