He was a well known Greene County Furniture Builder and a former Greeneville City School Teacher. He was a lifelong member of St. James Lutheran Church and a member of the Volunteer State Auto Club.
He lived a good life and did many good things for people. He was dearly loved by his grandchildren, who called him “Pop Tart”, He loved teaching his grandchildren to work with their hands. He had many students from Greeneville Middle School who are still his friends.
Roger is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sally Brown; one daughter and son-in-law, Erin and Jesse Fearins of Brooklyn, New York; one son and daughter-in-law, Ben and Mandi Brown of Telford; grandchildren, Emme and Wyatt Brown of Telford, and Willa and Avery Fearins of Brooklyn, New York; one sister and brother-in-law, Brenda Brown (George) Olafsen; one brother and sister-in-law, John A. Jr. (Janice) Brown; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
He was the son of the late John A. and Grace Neas Brown.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 4 – 8 pm at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be at 12 pm Tuesday in the chapel of Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Moore officiating.
Interment will follow in St James Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers are family and friends.
Honorary pallbearers are members of the Volunteer State Auto Club; Dr. Charles Montgomery and Dr. Steve Perry.
Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
