He was a former U.E.T.H.D.A. Head Start bus driver.
Mr. Gray was of the Jehovah Witness Faith.
Survivors include his wife of 19 years: Beverly Gray; daughter: Wendy M. Gray; two stepsons: Jeff Mace and wife, Melissa, of Oklahoma; Timmy Mace and wife, Marie, of Sparta, TN; step granddaughters: Christina Randolph and husband, Justin, Jerrica Swift, all of Sparta, TN; two step grandsons: Dwayne Mace of Sparta; Cameron Mace of Knoxville; step granddaughters: Kindra Cherrell and Vanessa Young; step great grandson: Cayden Mace of Sparta; former stepson: Mike Gregg and his sons, Christopher and Nicholas; a brother and sister-in-law: Stanley and Liz Gray of Taylor, MI; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Gloria and Jay Shelton of Rockford, IL, Josephine and Rev. D.L. Cutshaw, Linda Helen and Carroll Dixson, all of Greeneville; sisters-in-law: Norma Jean Gray of Mosheim, Mert Yount of KY; numerous nieces and nephews including special nieces and nephews: Lucy Shelton, Debbie Ripley, Gloria Dixson, Tommy Allen Gray and Stanley Gray II.
He was the son of the late Silas and Lucy Mae Brackins Gray and was preceded in death by a
son, Robert J. “B.J.” Gray II; two brothers, Tommy Gray and Warren Yount.
The funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 13, 2012, in the Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel.
Elder Skip Hutchinson and Elder Ben Wilson will officiate. Interment will be at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery at a later date.
Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Advanced Home Health, Dr. Fred Myers, the staff of Wound Care Healing at Takoma Regional Hospital.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
As per his wishes, the body will be cremated.
