He served with the National Park Service for 33 years, with 15 years spent at Andrew Johnson National Historic Site as superintendent.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Pillars Sunday School Class
Mr. Corey was a member of the Heritage Trust, Greene County Partnership, Leadership Greene County, and Main Street Greeneville.
He was a proud graduate of Ole Miss in Oxford, Mississippi, was steadfast in his belief in God and set a great Christian example. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather who dearly loved his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years: Debbie Corey; children and spouses: Kristopher and Amy, Faith and Rob, and Melissa; four grandchildren: Haley, Mason, Ella, and Lia; and three brothers.
The family will receive friends from 2:00pm-5:00pm Saturday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00pm Sunday, April 21, 2013, at First Baptist Church in Greeneville with Minister Joey Tillery officiating.
Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mason Gallaher, Brett Cooper, Craig Cooper, Kurt Cooper, Jim Small, and David Clark.
Ralph Doxey and Danny Sims will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Mr. Corey requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
