Maggie Anne Higgins

She retired from Mead Corp. in Kingsport, where she spent most of her life.

Mrs. Higgins was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, where she was also a member of Susanna Wesley Sunday School Class.

Survivors include her brother: William “Boss” Looney and nieces and nephews.

She was the daughter of the late Julia and Mike Looney and was preceded in death by her husband: Lawrence Higgins; sisters: Roxie Wexler, Addie Humphreys, Clara Wilhoit, Cora Blue Johnson, Ruby LaFollette, Ota Hensley; and brothers: Ezra Looney, Claude Looney, Harold Looney, Elmer “Bud” Looney; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, May 11, 2012 at GreeneLawn Memory Gardens with Rev. David Woody officiating.

Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Friday to go in procession to the committal service.
