He was a retired truck driver and farmer.
Survivors include his wife: Pauline Sauls Hale; brother-in-law: Donald Ray Inscore of Greeneville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Max and Patsy Sauls and Delores Sauls of Greeneville, J.C. and Jan Clark of Midway, James and Debbie Sauls of Mosheim; a host of friends; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews; and two special great nephews and a special great niece: Cole and Kinsley Ellenburg and Elijah Hawkins.
He was the son of the late George and Lillie Goodman Hale and was preceded in death by a brother, J.D. Hale; and two sisters: Mary Katherine Inscore and Norma Jean Ealey.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home preceding the funeral service at 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Paul Ragon and Rev. Bobby Green will officiate.
Interment will follow at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Sinking Springs Cemetery. It is requested that family and friends, that would like to join the family to go in procession to the committal service, meet at 10:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
His pallbearers will be Phil Inscore, Richard Dobbelaere, Todd Ellenburg, Chuck Clark Mike Sauls, and R.P. Whittenburg.
Clyde McLean, Tommy Hale, James Whittenburg, Terry Whittenburg, Claude McLean, Jakie Keasling, Jack Robinson, Willis Gregg, Charley Hawkins, Johnny Keasling, and Robert Whittenburg will serve as honorary pallbearers.
