He was a long-time farmer and loved his family and Jesus with all his heart.
Mr. Waddell was a member of Brown’s Chapel Church.
Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years: Wilma Waddell; four daughters and three sons-in-law: Debra and Dr. Jamie Bartley, Beverly and Phillip Ratliff, Sandra and Mike Davis, and Carla Waddell and Scott Bailey; one son and daughter-in-law: Steve and Angel Waddell; seven grandchildren: Pam Dalton and husband, Chad, Ethan Murray, Jimmy Waddell and Alaina Moore, Derek Waddell, Hanna Davis, Jake Knowlton, and Kendall Bartley; five great grandchildren: Cameron Wilhoit, Braelynn Wilhoit, Kendyl Waddell, Bryleigh Dalton, Makenna Dalton; special brother and sister-in-law: Roy and Frances Waddell; two other brothers and sister-in-law: Cleatus and Michelle Waddell and Clyde Waddell; five sisters and one brother-in-law: Lorene Stills, JoAnne Wheeler, Bessaline Crum, Bertha Dixon, Brenda and Everette Aldridge; two special sisters-in-law: Ollie Waddell and Marie Myers; two brothers-in-law: Phillip Riddle and Wayne Riddle; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the son of the late Edd and Pet Waddell and was preceded in death by a special brother, Edward Waddell; special brothers-in-law: Cecil Stills, Guy Dean Dixon, Mont Crum, and Glen Wheeler; a nephew, Kendall Cutshaw; and a niece, Annette Blazer.
He is survived by special friends of the family: Bill and Janet Solomon, Bobby and Mimi Nease, Don and Linda McNeese, Charles McNeese, Royce and Brenda Davis, Fawn Westmoreland, Hugh LaRue, Johnny and Nancy Malone, Ernie and Julie Kleinlein, Raymond Junior Gregg and family, Ivan Collins, Rex and Debbie Bowers, and all of his special Cedar Creek Community family and friends.
The family extends a special thanks to Laughlin Healthcare LPN’s and CNA’s of the west wing, Smokey Mountain Hospice, Dr. Joe Austin, and Lesley Henry. You all were a blessing.
The family will receive friends from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm Saturday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 8:00 pm Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jim Fillers and Rev. Kevin Casteel officiating.
Interment will be at 4:00 pm Sunday in Cedar Creek Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at 3:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ethan Murray, Jimmy Waddell, Derek Waddell, Bobby Waddell, Gary Waddell, Jerry Waddell, and Kenny Waddell.
