He attended Love’s Memorial United Methodist Church.
Mr. Combs was a farmer. He was a former Road Commissioner and retired from TDOT.
He was a former member of Glenwood Ruritan.
Survivors include his wife: Ruby Combs; son and daughter-in-law: Roger and Debby Combs; two daughters and sons-in-law: Cathy and David Lamons and Cheryl and Jim Easterley; three step children; nine grandchildren; seven step grandchildren and their families; 16 great grandchildren; three sisters and one brother-in-law: Gaynelle and Oscar Payne, Earnestine Hartman, and Virginia Hartman; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife: Darlene Claridy Combs; parents: Alvin “Abb” and Fannie Combs; a brother: Fowler Combs; sister: Willie Kate Hartman; and two infant sisters.
The family will receive friends from 4pm-7pm Sunday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
Following visitation, the funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bill Hughes and Rev. Dan Palmer officiating.
Interment will be at 11:00 am Monday in Pine Grove UM Church Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10am Monday to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
