He is survived by his wife of 62 years Charlotte; 6 children: Eddie, Randy, Timothy, Anthony, Matthew, Tabatha and her husband Mark Hill; along with 7 grandchildren: Jill Holt, Heather Lowe and her husband Ben, Josh Broyles and his wife Amber, Maygon Laws and her husband Levi, Matthew Hill, Charles Hill, and Madeline Hill; 7 great-grandchildren: Haley Holt, Holdan Holt, Robert Spencer, Brooke Broyles, Eli Broyles, Waylon Lowe and October Laws; his brother Bill Eugene Broyles and his wife Dorothy; sister-in-law Lucille Wills, brother-in-law Tim Renner, and his extended family of Cedar Creek Church of God. He is preceded in death by his parents, George William and Minnie Olive and his sister Dorothy.
Kay was born in Greeneville on Aug. 18, 1932. He began his career at Magnavox in 1950, and then was drafted into the US Army where he was stationed in Alaska and Georgia and returned to work at Magnavox where he worked for 47 years. He was also an active member of Cedar Creek Church of God and especially loved teaching the Sunshine Class, which he did for over 20 years.
The family will be receiving friends on Friday, May 1st from 5:00-8:00pm at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at the funeral home chapel on Saturday, May 2nd at 10:00 am with Rev. Darrell Sovine and Rev. Andy Christiansen officiating.
He will then be laid to rest at GreenLawn Memory Gardens.
Pall Bearers will be Josh Broyles, Ben Lowe, Donnie Crum, Ken Brewer, Ben Wills, and Mark Hill.
Honorary pallbearers are the members of the Cedar Creek Church of God Sunshine Class.
