She was a former employee of Southern Electronics for three years; worked at Philips Consumer Electronics for 17 years and Ecoquest for 11 years as a line supervisor; and was currently employed at So-Pak-Co as a shipping clerk, the dream job of her lifetime.
Kathy attended St. Joseph Free Will Baptist Church as long as her health permitted
Kathy had a love for all animals. She was born in Marion, Indiana but has resided in Greene County since 1962.
Survivors include her husband of 36 years: H. Gene Witt; a daughter and son-in-law: Amanda Diane and Chase Bailey ; grandchildren: Aiden Blake Thompson and Addy Kate Thompson; father: Clarence “Buddy” Malone of Mosheim; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Charlene Malone, Judy Renner, Marion and Edna Witt, Paul and Debbie Witt of Morristown, Odell and Dorothy Hicks of Midway, Patti Parry of Greeneville, Edna Brown of Missouri; nephews: Matthew Malone and wife, Angie, Elliot Malone, a Navy Seal stationed in Japan, Ethan Malone of Greeneville; a niece: Charity Ramsey and husband, Michael; two special nieces: Phyllis Gross and Jean Miller; several nieces and nephews in the Witt and Malone families; and aunts and uncles: Lois and Kenneth Miller, Ross Shelton, Robert Lee Shelton, Doyle Malone, and Ralph Shelton.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Katherine Colena Malone; a brother, Ricky Carroll Malone; grandparents, Clarence and Charlsie Malone, Alonzo and Bessie Shelton; uncles, York Shelton, Worley Shelton, Jay Shelton; aunts, Olive Kimery and Juanita Ramsey.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 pm Friday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 2 pm Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Roger Ealey and Rev. Marty Hicks officiating.
Interment will follow in Mosheim Central Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Donnie Mace, Landon Williams, Dewight Cogdill, Ethan Malone, Michael Ramsey, and Chase Bailey.
Honorary Pallbearers are Elliot Malone and Matthew Malone.
The family wished to express a special thanks to Dr. Dharman Patel and her caregivers, Phyllis Day and Martha Osborne.
