He retired from Magnavox, where he was a first class repairman.
He was a member of Greeneville Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Babb was a member of the VFW.
He loved to work on his family farm and his home garden. He really took pride in his work.
Survivors include his wife: Odean Babb; son and daughter-in-law: David and Debbi Babb of Fort Worth, Texas; grandsons: Ryan Babb and Camden Babb of Fort Worth, Texas; step daughter: Lois Mottern and husband, Jimmy, of Midway; sister: Hilda Hawk; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the son of the late Joseph Babb Sr. and Laura Elizabeth Babb and was preceded in death by two brothers: Hugh and Ray Babb; a sister: Jennie Grace Justice; and his first wife: Marjorie Babb.
The family will receive friends from 5-8pm Sunday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 2pm Monday, January 13, 2014, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jamie Lively officiating.
Interment will follow in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens. The Greene County Honor Guard and the Tennessee National Guard will conduct a military graveside service.
The Greene County Honor Guard will be pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Laughlin Health Care and the members of the Heritage Class of Greeneville Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
