John served honorably in the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force before joining the Greeneville Fire Department, where he retired from serving as a firefighter, EMT, and Lieutenant. John was also a faithful member of Amity Presbyterian Church.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Salvatore and Ethelyn Pellici, Annunziato Barber; brother, Frederick (Almeta) Burley; sisters: Helen (Edward) Sidebotham, Bonna Burley; nephew: Matthew Krivitza; in-laws: Eugene (Flora) Wells, William O (Betty) Wells.
John is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Betty; brother, Gary (Betsy) Barber; sisters: Nancy (Harold) Parnell, Frances Webster, Cynthia (Trent) Boyce; nephews: Harold (Doc) Parnell, John Eric Parnell, Keith (Jenny) Sidebotham, Donald (Ashley) Libby, Nick Krivitza, Eric (Stacy) Webster, Blair (Emily) Ricker, Jonathan Ricker; nieces: Debbie (John) Hobby, Cheryl (Howard) Barrett, Becky (Marc) Hemling, Clarissa (Reagan) Johnson, Diane (Dwayne Graham) Johnson, Tammie Price, Emily Price, Maggie Price, Lily Price; twenty great nephews and nieces.
A graveside service will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at GreeneLawn Memory Gardens. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
The Greeneville Greene County Honor Guard and Tennessee National Guard will conduct military honors. The Greeneville Fire Department will conduct firefighter honors.
