She was a former employee of McClean’s in Johnson City and Magnavox and she was a homemaker.
She was a life-long member of Casi Full Gospel Church, where she currently served as treasurer and was active in the Ladies’ Helping Hands Group.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years: Tommy VerWiebe; daughter and son-in-law: Pamela and Ronnie Brown; granddaughter: Emily Brown; grandson: Austin Brown; two brothers-in-law: Norman VerWiebe of Dallas, Texas and Phillip VerWiebe of Jonesborough; sister-in-law: Judy Manka and husband, Ken, of Blairsville, Georgia; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; a very special friend: Joann Painter; and her special pet: Cowboy.
She was the daughter of the late Haskell and Mary “Tootsie” Painter Jones and was preceded in death by a son: Lincoln “Bart” VerWiebe.
The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Saturday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home and 1-2 p.m. Sunday at Casi Full Gospel Church.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Casi Full Gospel Church with Rev. Dr. Jim Fields and Rev. Shawn Broyles officiating.
Interment will follow in Liberty Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Chris VerWiebe, Steven Painter, Allen Painter, Johnny Painter, Arthur Hoxie, Nolan Tinker, and Clay Kyker.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of Casi Church, Dr. Michael Hartsell, Dr. Mandeep Bakshi, and the nurses and staff of ICU at Laughlin Memorial Hospital.
