Everyone who knew him called him Jeep. Jeep was a very loving and giving person. He worked at American Greetings for 44 years. Jeep loved to work on the family farm. He will be missed by many. He was a great father.
Survivors include his son: Anthony “Andy” Southerland; brothers and sisters-in-law: R. D. “Wimp” and Kay Southerland, Ray Southerland, and Jerry “Petie” and Gwyn Southerland; sisters and brother-in-law: Linda Sexton, Betsy Parton, and Pat and Junior Ellenburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Maybelle Southerland; parents: Jerry and Zella Southerland; brothers-in-law: Jim Sexton and Paul Parton; and sister-in-law: Imogene Southerland.
The family will receive friends from 2pm-4pm and 5pm-7pm Saturday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jeff Casteel and Rev. David Tweed officiating.
Interment will follow in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Jamie Ellenburg, Jeremy Southerland, Jared Ellenburg, Chris Bailey, Danny Waldroup, and Preston Bailey.
Honorary pallbearers are his friends from American Greetings.
