Jan was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, who was always willing to lend a helping hand and always supported his family no matter the time of day or night. He was a member of Carter’s Chapel United Methodist Church. He adored his family and was rarely seen without them as they tackled numerous projects together. Jan was a hard worker, always willing to learn new things and share them with others. Jan enjoyed farming and loved all animals, but his greatest joy was spending time with his grandson James. Jan’s sense of humor and dry wit was a surprising yet endearing quality we will all miss. He began his professional career as a Data Processing Clerk at Magnavox and worked his way up through the company becoming a Senior Systems Analyst, Programmer, and IT Specialist for Philips Consumer Electronics traveling to Eindhoven, Netherlands several times for the company.
