He was retired. He attended Central Baptist as long as his health permitted.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years: Angelin “Susie” Brooks; a daughter: Angelique (Brian) McConaghy of Seattle; a grandson: Michael Brooks of Seattle, WA; brother-in-law: Henry (Teresa) Branch of Greeneville; nieces: Judy (Jeff) Whitaker of Greeneville, Kate Whitaker of Morristown and Sara Branch of Greeneville; nephews: Christopher Whitaker and John P. Branch; and a special cat: Jodi.
He was preceded in death by his parents: James Harmon and Josephine Brooks; a sister: Margaret Thompson; a nephew: William Branch and a mother-in-law: Earline Branch.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Wednesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Thursday at 2:00 pm in the chapel with Rev. Brad Higgins and Rev. Eddie Malone officiating. The interment will follow at GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.
The Greene County Honor Guard and the TN National Guard will conduct military graveside honors.
Pallbearers will be Henry Branch, John Branch, Arnold Hensley, Chris Edwards, Brian McConaghy and James Davis.
