He was a farmer.
Mr. Burger was a member of Lick Creek Valley Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include his nephews and their wives: Jimmy and Kathy Cutshall, Howard and Deirdre Cutshall, Harold and Judy Cutshall, Ronnie and Sharon Sexton, and Timmy and Brenda Sexton, all of Mosheim; nieces and husband: Kathy Burgner of Newport and Michelle and Jimmy Painter of Afton; sisters-in-law: Jane Jeffers of Greeneville, Ann Hussey and Wilma Jackson of Mosheim, Pat Southerland of Greeneville; brothers-in-law and spouses: Alfred and Martha Franklin of Mosheim, Bob and Brenda Franklin of Greeneville; and two foster sons: Coedy Hinkle and Cole Johnson
He was the son of the late Edgar and Darkus Dean Burger and was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years: Betty Burger; brothers: Wayne Burger and Jack Burger; and sisters: Marie Sexton and Kathleen Cutshall.
The family will receive friends 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm Saturday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
Following visitation, the funeral service will be held at 8pm Saturday, April 27, 2013, in Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel with Rev. Michael Mack and Buford Fletcher officiating.
Interment will follow at 2pm Sunday at Mosheim Central Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1pm Sunday to go in procession to the committal service.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Martin, Alfred Franklin, Daniel Cutshall, Timmy Sexton, Mike Martin, and Bob Franklin.
The members of Lick Creek Valley Free Will Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.
