He was employed at General Shale Brickyard for 32 years.
Mr. Smith is survived by his loving wife of 10 years and stepmother to his children: Mary Wilburn Smith; his children and spouses: Ellen and Shane Davis of Louisiana, Tonya and Joe Taylor and Haskell and Amber Smith of Greeneville; two very special stepsons: Michael Wilburn and wife Tisha, Josh Wilburn and wife Ashley of Greeneville; seven grandchildren: Tiffiany Tarleton, Dillan and Hunter Taylor, Caleb and Alexis Davis, Tyler and Alley Smith, Lindsey Wilburn; great grandson: Ezekiel Tarleton; two brothers: Claude and wife Lois Smith of Greeneville, Pete and wife DiAnna Smith of Kingsport; a very special sister-in-law: Joyce Wilburn of Greeneville; a brother-in-law: Ricky Wilburn and wife Raelee of Kingsport; several nieces and nephews.
He was a son of the late Haskell and Eloise Crawford Smith.
The funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Monday, December 6, 2010, in the Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel. Pastor Perry Foshie and Rev. Bergin Taylor will officiate. Interment will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Pine Grove Cemetery on the Horton Highway.
Pallbearers will be Hunter Taylor, Dillan Taylor, Joe Taylor, Jeremy Smith, Josh Smith, Jimmy Smith and Tony Hensley.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home preceding the service. Family and friends may call anytime at the home of Claude Smith of Afton. Memorials may be made to Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home. It is requested that family and friends meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery for the committal service.
