Mr. Ricker attended Old Mountain Church.
He was an active member of the Ridge Runners Car Club until his health declined.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years: Wilma Ricker; a son: Anthony Shane Ricker; grandson: Nicholas Shane Ricker; granddaughter: Amber Widner Slagle and husband, Shane; great granddaughters: Madison and Morgan Slagle; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Lois Ricker, Wanda Ricker, Pat Ricker, Linda Sweat, Joy and Bill Nunnally, Louise Gunter, Josephine Keith, Marjorie and Alton Bradley, John Paul Gunter, Jimmie Dean Coffey; and several nieces, nephews, and special friends.
He was the son of the late Cyrus and Nellie Ricker and was preceded in death by five brothers, two sisters, and a foster son.
The family will receive friends 3-7 p.m. Thursday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
Following visitation, the funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Lynn Mercer and Rev. Carl Morgan officiating.
Interment will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday in Harris Memorial Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at 12 noon Friday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery for the committal service.
Pallbearers will be Nicholas Ricker, Curtis Lamons, Pete Lamons, Marty Ricker, Junior Ricker, Jason Ricker, Phillip Gunter, and George Hampsey.
Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Ridge Runners Car Club, Nick Valk, L.A. Johnson, Lowell Gosnell, Junior Smith, Johnny Rader, Fred Wilhoit, Bill Dabbs, and Keith Chandler.
