He was a life member of the V.F.W.
He is survived by his wife, Jeannette Shirley; four sons: George Bernard Shirley, III, John C. Shirley (Melissa), Daniel Shirley (Katrina), and Raymond Shirley (Nancy); a daughter: Belinda Walker; grandchildren: Jeannette Stephens (Robert), Lisa Sine, Earl Sine, Kaylee Shirley, Andrew Shirley, John Shirley, Jr., Heather Dean (Jamie), Cheyanne Shirley, Christopher Shirley, Alana Shirley, Tyler Shirley, Tristan Shirley, Raymond Shirley, Jr., Bradley Shirley (Kayla); fourteen great-grandchildren; three sisters: Peggy Pickeral, Debbie Chandler, and Joyce Shriner; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by George, Sr. and Celestine Shirley and a grandson, James Sine.
A military graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 pm Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Mountain Home National Cemetery.
